We are looking for inspiring, person-centred music workshop leaders to join our talented team. You will have a music specialism and be confident to plan and deliver activities with our groups of adults with a learning disability and / or autism.
You will be confident to deliver quality, engaging music sessions to groups that improve musicianship, inspire creative thinking and develop performance skills.
Activities we currently offer include band development, singing, learning to play instruments, DJing, VJ-ing, song writing, jamming and improvisation and much more. We are extremely open to new ways of engaging our participants and know that new musicians will bring new skills.
The roles we are recruiting to are as follows:
Thursday Music Group – Workshop Leaders
We are looking to create a small team of music workshop leaders to bring their specialism to deliver short blocks of work to our Thursday music group (6-8 weeks consecutive block of work), alongside, and in partnership with an experienced tutor here at Under the Stars and our Programme Manager.
This is an all-female group’ that has been running over ten years. The groups’ purpose is to empower women to make music confidently about the things that matter to them. This group was formed as a safe place for women to make music as we know women are under-represented across our music workshops and in the wider music industry.
Workshop Leaders – Short Term Cover
We are also looking to increase our pool of cover tutors to help us during busy periods and to cover holidays and absences.
We especially welcome applications from individuals who are female, people from a global majority and people who are disabled or neuro divergent.
Prospective applicants must be non-judgemental, resilient, creative, and imaginative. A sense of humour is essential.
